Jul. 9--Japan's pharmaceutical manufacturers are considering plans to relocate their production bases elsewhere to cut production costs at home.
Piyabutr Cholvijarn, the deputy industry minister, said Japan's pharmaceutical industry was suffering from high production costs and that Thailand, Singapore and China were being considered as new production bases.
Representatives of the privately run Meiji University, assigned by the pharmaceutical industry, were in Bangkok recently to explore business opportunities and investment terms and conditions.
