Qld: Beattie backs productivity plan

Queensland Premier .. PETER BEATTIE .. says numeracy and literacy in schools should
be used to lift productivity in Australia.

State premiers will use a meeting of the Council of Australian Governments on Friday
.. to present a 10-point plan to add seven billion dollars to the economy.

Mr BEATTIE says all the premiers have taken a united position on the human capital
reform plan .. which includes changes to education and training .. and to disability and
mental health services.
